The Venus Flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) is a captivating carnivorous plant known for its jaw-like leaves that snap shut on unsuspecting insects. Native to the bogs of the southeastern U.S., it uses tiny trigger hairs to detect prey and absorbs nutrients to thrive in low-nutrient soil. With bright light, rainwater, and a bit of humidity, this botanical oddity makes a fun and fascinating addition to any indoor plant collection.

Position your Venue Fly Trap somewhere where it will receive at least six hours of direct sun, ideally a south-facing windowsill or conservatory.
Water frequently with rainwater (as carnivorous plants are sensitive to tap water) making sure the soil stays constantly moist.
Trim back the traps when they have started to brown and shrivel, to allow for fresh new growth.
