You can position your ZZ plant anywhere, as long as it's not too dark and not in full sun all day long when it's at its strongest.
It's always best to underwater these plants as they are very drought-tolerant and store water in their fleshy leaves and roots. Water more frequently in the warmer months, and always allow the soil to completely dry out in between waterings. They should never need watering more than once a month.
When watering, thoroughly soak the soil until water drains out of the bottom of the pot. Discard any excess water in the saucer or decorative pot to prevent waterlogged roots.
