Caladium 'Rosebud' is a beautiful foliage plant, grown for its large heart-shaped leaves marked with a rich rose-pink centre, creamy white background, and deep green margins. Its stunning colouring and papery leaves make it an eye-catching addition to bright rooms, where it thrives in warm conditions and indirect light.

Active growth begins in spring and continues through summer, producing a colourful display of foliage for several months. As temperatures cool in autumn, the plant will naturally enter dormancy and may die back completely over winter. At this stage, reduce watering and allow the tuber to rest in its pot, kept dry and frost-free. New growth will emerge again in spring when warmth and regular watering are resumed.

  • Caladium's thrive in a warm situation in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, so it's best to place the plant in a well-lit area away from direct sun exposure in the height of the summer sun.

Make sure to keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy, always allowing the top couple of inches to dry out in between waterings.

When watering, thoroughly soak the soil until water drains out of the bottom of the pot. Discard any excess water in the saucer or decorative pot to prevent waterlogged roots.

It's important to adjust your watering routine based on the time of year and specific environmental conditions like humidity and temperature.
