Homalomena's thrive in bright, indirect light but will also tolerate lower light levels, making it well suited to indoor spaces. Avoid direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves and fade their distinctive markings. For best growth, keep the plant in a warm room and away from cold draughts.

 

Make sure to keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy, always allowing the top couple of inches to dry out in between waterings.

 

When watering, thoroughly soak the soil until water drains out of the bottom of the pot. Discard any excess water in the saucer or decorative pot to prevent waterlogged roots.
